Some of you may be considering what New Year’s resolutions you could make as 2025 draws nearer. Well, don’t bother if these forecasts come true.
Indeed, as 2024 comes to an end, the echoes of the past become more audible as two of the most mysterious people in history, Baba Vanga and Nostradamus, make terrifying prophecies that both fascinate and horrify people in equal measure.
The foresight ascribed to these fabled seers has been a subject of discussion for decades, regardless of one’s belief system.
Even though the blind Bulgarian mystic Baba Vanga, whose real name was Vangeliya Pandeva Gushterova, died in 1996, she is credited with making predictions that were 85% accurate.
According to The Economic Times, these have reportedly included the 9/11 attacks, the passing of Princess Diana, and the presidency of Barack Obama.
With predictions covering the next three millennia (scroll to the bottom of the page for that happy reading), her prophetic skill has made a lasting effect and cemented her status as a powerful figure in the field of prophetic enigma.
Furthermore, the French astronomer Nostradamus, who lived in the 16th century, recorded his visions in the mysterious quatrains of his book Les Prophéties, published in 1555.
His image as a visionary whose work is constantly examined for hints about the future is cemented by the claims that his foresights foresaw significant events, including the ascent of Adolf Hitler, the assassination of President Kennedy, and the September 11 terror attacks.
Unnerving Predictions for 2025
According to both prophets, 2025 will be a crucial year with significant ramifications on the world stage.
Nostradamus predicts the rise of a dark cult to power and the establishment of an underwater empire.
Baba Vanga, meanwhile, foretells the development of telepathy, giving our conception of human potential a futuristic spin.
But the projections also have a harsher tone than war predictions.
Both foretell a catastrophic battle in Europe, with Nostradamus characterizing it as the result of “cruel wars” and inexplicably adding, “The ancient plague will be worse than enemies.”
Additionally, Baba Vanga forebodingly asserts that this fight will “devastate” communities, which sets a grim tone for the foreseeable future and makes me wonder if I should really spend the money on my Neil Diamond calendar each year.
Oh, and if that’s not enough to keep you up at night, Nostradamus also writes of an asteroid coming to Earth: “From the cosmos, a fireball will rise, A harbinger of fate, the world pleads. Science and fate in a cosmic dance: The fate of the Earth, a second chance.”
A Glimmer of Hope and Extraterrestrial Intrigue
There are glimmers of hope despite the ominous predictions.
According to Sky History, Nostradamus alludes to a potential settlement of the current Russia-Ukraine war by predicting that both sides will get “exhausted” and that interventions from countries like France or Turkey could bring about peace.
More atypically, both seers hint at the potential for extraterrestrial contacts; Baba Vanga even suggests that aliens could show up at a major athletic event.
However, as I indicated before, Baba Vanga passed away with predictions that humanity would live for 3,056 years, and let’s just say that things don’t seem to work out well with the aliens.
Who was Baba Vanga?
According to the Mirror, Baba Vanga is known as the “Nostradamus of the Balkans” and her 85% accuracy rate is said to still give people chills as her prophecies come true after she is gone.
When she was twelve years old, a storm is said to have caused her to lose her sight, demonstrating her mystic skills.
What, however, has the mystic foretold that seems to have materialized in the past?
The 9/11 terror attacks
In 1989, she ominously predicted: “Horror, Horror! The American brethren will fall after being attacked by the steel birds.” The chilling reference to “steel birds” could be interpreted as the hijacked planes used by Al-Qaeda in the devastating 9/11 attacks in 2001.
The sinking of the Kursk
Baba had a terrible vision in 1980 of Kursk, Russia, being “covered with water, and the whole world will weep over it.” Her prediction was confirmed when a nuclear submarine sank close to Kursk in August 2000, killing 188 crew members.
It makes sense that you might want to worry about the next three thousand years or more now that those terrifying forecasts have come true. Here’s how she see the next three millennia developing, from The New York Post:
2025: A conflict in Europe will devastate the continent’s population.
2028: Humans will begin to explore Venus as an energy source.
2033: The polar ice caps will melt, raising sea levels to drastic heights worldwide.
2076: Communism will spread to countries across the world.
2130: Humans will make alien contact.
2170: A drought will devastate much of the world.
3005: Earth will go to war with a civilization on Mars.
3797: Humans will have to vacate the Earth because it’s become uninhabitable.
5079: The world will end.
Guys, I won’t lie. I’m terrified. However, I don’t intend to be alive in 5079.
