Simone Biles shows off sparkling goat necklace amid historic Olympic gold medal win
Simone Biles just got some shiny new jewelry!
She won her second Olympic gold medal at the 2024 Paris Games this week, making it her ninth overall. To celebrate, she proudly showed off a shiny goat necklace, symbolizing her title as the greatest of all time in women’s gymnastics.
Simone Biles wears a necklace with a diamond pendant made by Janet Heller Fine Jewelry. The pendant has 546 diamonds and is a cool three-dimensional design, as seen on Instagram!
Biles asked Janet Heller Fine Jewelry to make a special necklace with the GOAT symbol, and also another one with the Olympic rings.
The company said, “Made with great care, this item shows her hard work, determination, and the inspiring spirit that has motivated many generations.”
After her latest victory, Biles shared that three years ago, she believed she would never set foot on a gym mat again.
“Super proud of my performance tonight, couldn’t be prouder, ” she said.
Besides winning the women’s gymnastics individual all-around event, Biles also won gold with her Team USA teammates Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera in the women’s team competition.
After that victory, Biles made history by becoming the American gymnast with the most medals ever, surpassing Shannon Miller.
This isn’t the first time Biles has proclaimed her G.O.A.T. status. In 2021, she wore a leotard embellished with a dazzling goat for the U.S. Gymnastics Championships.
She said to Marie Claire that the special outfit was her way of standing up to people who were mean to her.
She said it didn’t seem right that they could say whatever they wanted, but if she said something, it wasn’t fair. “The haters were like, ‘I swear, if she put a goat on her leo, blah, blah, blah.’”
She said, “That would really tick them off. Then I thought, ‘Hey, that’s a smart idea. Let’s make the people who don’t like it really dislike it, while the fans will totally love it.’ So, that’s what we went for and the reason behind it.”
